Tajikistan and China: long-term cooperation in agriculture

In Tajikistan, a delegation of businessmen led by Chairman of the Board of Directors «Hanan Jinquan Silverseed Co. LTD »Li Chao, on September 19 met with Agriculture Minister Qosim Qosimov, said the spokesperson for the Ministry of Agriculture of the RT Narzullo Dadoboev.

During the meeting the Minister stressed that in recent years, prepared and signed by a number of intergovernmental and interdepartmental agreements between our two countries. During the working visit of the response the Minister of Agriculture of China Han Changfu at the end of August this year between the Ministries of Agriculture of the RT and China signed a Memorandum of cooperation between the two agencies, which reflected the specific areas of cooperation in agriculture between the two countries. In particular, cooperation in the field of seed production, increasing the greenhouse area.

It should be recalled that the company «Hanan Jinquan Silverseed Co. LTD »specializes in growing and processing of seeds, especially cotton, maize and cereals, as well as the cultivation of early vegetables under glass.

Q.Qosimov said that there is a problem in the country providing quality seeds and it affects the productivity of acreage reduction from 20 to 40%. With the initiative of a state program of the Ministry of seed annually from the state budget allocated appropriate funds for the purchase of elite varieties of seeds. However, these measures do not fully cover the Shade demand of quality seeds.

The Minister noted that Tajikistan's agricultural sector needs to develop new technologies for heat-resistant and require less water the seeds.

The delegation intends to explore the potential of a week in most regions of the country (and Khatlon, Sughd region, RRS) and prepare a package of proposals for the Ministry of Agriculture of RT, and the Ministry of Agriculture of China.

As a result of the visit is scheduled to sign a protocol between the Ministry of Agriculture of the RT and the company «Hanan Jinquan Silverseed Co. LTD». (Translated by D.Azizov)
