Minister of Agriculture met with Azerbaijani Ambassador

Dushanbe, June 21. (NIAT "Khovar"). -

The meeting of the Minister of Agriculture of Tajikistan with Azerbaijani Ambassador in Tajikistan Abbasali Hasanov was held in Dushanbe, on June 19.

During the conversation, Ambassador noted the traditional relations between our peoples for centuries, particularly emphasizing their historical significance in sphere of culture, science and art. In recent years, the trade and economic relations between states has begun successfully developing.

Q. Qasymov informed about the state of the agricultural sector in the country and noted that as part of his visit to Baku for attending the International Conference of FAO had met with the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ismet Abbasov, in which was negotiated a number of interesting proposals on establishment of mutually beneficial cooperation in the agricultural sector of both countries. For example, if the Azerbaijani colleagues are interested in achieving breeding livestock, beekeeping and growing early and clean fruits and vegetables, then Tajikistan is interested in scientific research in the field of seed production, especially cotton, grain, and the experience of colleagues in planting Azerbaijani foothills and rain-fed oilseed as olive trees.

As well the minister has suggested to exchange researchers and students.

For the successful implementation of these plans there have been requested to prepare and sign an agreement between the two ministries.
