The head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tajikistan: "The Tajik market is great interest to foreign investors"

Dushanbe, October 12. (NIAT "Khovar", P.Mahmadbekova). The issues of expanding the regional Economic Cooperation, the intensification of trade-economic and cultural ties, as well as regional cooperation in the international transit messages have been discussed in Dushanbe during a meeting of business circles of Tajikistan with the Secretary General of ECO Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mohammad Reza Karbosi, a member of the Board of Directors of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry Abdulhusain Fakhari and Counselor of the Embassy of Iran in the RT Bayoni, on October 7, 2011.

According to the press center of the CCI RT, during the meeting the chairman of CCI RT Sharif Said pointed out that "It is very important to increase mutual trade by removing obstacles to this process. There are plenty of still unused opportunities for attracting foreign investments create joint ventures in Tajikistan. 93% of the country is mountainous. The presence of rich deposits of natural resources is the competitive advantage of the country. In this case, it is important to realizing this advantage, we are not just mastering and exporting our natural resources, and acquire modern technology for mining, would increase the degree of processing, strengthen the adoption of equipment and machinery to ensure a high share of value added export products.

"The Tajik market is also of great interest to foreign investors of the Islamic states. Today these countries are actively looking for their interest in it, including through the establishment of joint ventures in sectors such as hydropower, mining, food and light industry, machine building, construction industry, transport, agriculture, tourism and health care ", - said S.Said.

Tajik entrepreneurs are interested in cooperate with companies of ECO member countries. However, for the better development of the economy, we need experts and trained personnel, whose training would take on projects of IVF. Chairman of the Chamber introduced a motion to consider the possibility of Dushanbe in short-term business courses for members of CCI RT with the participation of experts of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the ECO, as well as the organization and conduct of the international exhibition in Dushanbe goods and technology and business forum of business circles of Tajikistan and the ECO Member States.

At the result of the meeting, a Memorandum on "Cooperation" has been signed. (Translated by D.Azizov)
