Tajik Ambassador spoke in European Parliament

Dushanbe, June 25. (NIAT “Khovar”).-

On June 12, 2012 in European parliament at the initiative of members of the Delegation of European Parliament on Central Asia and UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has been conducted the round table titled “Reform of Juvenile justice in Central Asia”. The round table was attended by European Parliament, European Commission, representatives of Embassies of Central Asian countries and UNICEF.

At this event Tajikistan was represented by Ambassador, Permanent Representative of Tajikistan in European Union Rustamjon Soliev. In his speech Tajik diplomat has presented a detailed information about reforms in this sphere and noted about Tajikistan’s achievements, particularly adoption of a Program to work with minors in the Republic of Tajikistan for the period 2010-2015, a National Action Plan on Reform of the juvenile justice system for 2010-2015, the appointment of special judges to hear cases involving juveniles, amendments to the Criminal Code, Criminal Procedure of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Department of Information, Press, Analysis and Foreign Policy Planning of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan reported.
