Meeting of the Tajik Foreign Minister with US Ambassador

Dushanbe, June 28. (NIAT “Khovar”).-
On June 26, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Hamrokhon Zarifi received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Republic of Tajikistan Kenneth Gross in connection with the completion of his term of office.

The Foreign Minister praised and highly commended the work of the Ambassador of USA to Tajikistan and noted that during his stay in Tajikistan as an ambassador, relations between the countries rose to a new level.

The U.S. Ambassador expressed his appreciation to the Foreign Minister for fruitful cooperation and support of his country's Embassy in Tajikistan. Mr. Ken Gross stated that Tajikistan is an important partner for the USA in the Central Asian region and his country attaches great importance to developing and expanding relations with this country.

The two sides stressed the joint efforts of the countries in improving the situation in Afghanistan as part of the actions of international coalition forces in the country.
Mr. Gross again expressed his deep gratitude to the Tajik side for supporting the International Security Assistance Forces in Afghanistan.

At the end of the meeting, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan wished successes to the U.S. Ambassador in his further diplomatic career, the Department of Information, Press, Analysis and Foreign Policy Planning of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan has reported.
