Tajik and Korean Foreign Ministers have met in Seoul

Tajik and Korean Foreign Ministers have met in Seoul Dushanbe, July 6. (NIAT “Khovar”).-

On July 5, 2012 in the framework of participation in the Sixth Korea-Central Asia Cooperation Forum, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Hamrokhon Zarifi met with his counterpart – Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Korea Kim Sung-Hwan.

The issues of current state and further prospects of bilateral relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Korea, establishment of mutually advantageous cooperation in the spheres of labor migration, hydropower, geology, health, agriculture and economy have been considered at the meeting.

The sides also reviewed the possibility of elevating the status of diplomatic mission of the Republic of Korea in Dushanbe to the level of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, that, according to the parties, will favor the strengthening of bilateral relations and expansion of horizons of mutually advantageous cooperation.

Tajik and Korean Foreign Ministers have met in Seoul The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, having highly evaluated the development of cooperation with Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), expressed gratitude to the Government of the Republic of Korea for the rendered assistance and support in the margins of technical cooperation, as well as proposed to expand main education programs in the areas of public administration, education, health, industry and energy, information technology and protection of environment.

At the end of the meeting the Intergovernmental Agreement “About mutual renunciation of visa requirements for holders of service and diplomatic passports” has been signed.

NIAT “Khovar” has been reported at the Department of Information, Press, Analysis and Foreign Policy Planning of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikista.
