Goods turnover between Tajikistan and Turkmenistan has formed 194 million US dollars

Dushanbe, July 27. (NIAT “Khovar”).-

On July 25, the President of the country Emomali Rahmon has received the Co-Chair of the Intergovernmental Commission on economic, trade, scientific and technical cooperation between Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, Minister of Finance of Turkmenistan Davlatkeldi Sodiqov.

The issues of multidimensional cooperation between Tajikistan and Turkmenistan and activation of work of the Intergovernmental Commission on economic, trade, scientific and technical cooperation of both countries have been discussed at the talk.

As the meeting’s result at the briefing for journalists D.Sodiqov noted, that “Our meeting with respected President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon was held in a good, friendly atmosphere”.

As well by his words, at the meeting have been discussed issues of trade-economic cooperation and increase in turnover between our countries. There were considered issues in cultural-humanitarian sphere, transport, communication.

There has been expressed confidence, that our trade-economic relations will be developed more rapidly, including in sphere of education and culture.
By words of D.Sodiqov the volume of turnover between these two countries on results of 2011 has formed 194 million US dollars, that does not answer existing opportunities and resources.

“Therefore in the margins of the 4th Session of Intergovernmental Trade-Economic and Science-Technical Commission of Tajikistan and Turkmenistan we will consider issues of increase in turnover between our countries”.

D.Sodiqov noted, that it is expected to conduct business forum with participation of entrepreneurs of both countries in Ashkhabad on the first half of 2013.
“Moreover, it is planned the official visit of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan in Turkmenistan, during which will be signed a number of documents on cooperation”,- in conclusion noted D.Sodiqov. (Translated by M.Ismatova)
