Tajikistan at the session of UN Commission
Dushanbe, August 7. (NIAT “Khovar”). -
The next Session of the United Nations Commission on liquidation of all forms of racial discrimination has begun its work in Geneva, on August 6.
As UN Center of news reports, at the agenda of the session will be considered the periodical reports of Tajikistan, Austria, Korea, Senegal, Thailand, Fiji, Finland and Ecuador on accepted legislative, judicial, administrative or other measures directed at liquidation of racial discrimination.
The consideration of Tajikistan report is planned on August 8 and 9. On August 28 the Committee will be held topical discussion on issue about racist speeches of hate-motivated.
Convention declares that every person is equal before the law and has equal safety from discrimination. The document challenges the state to take all necessary measures for elimination of racial discrimination in all its forms and manifestations, to notify and eliminate racist theories and practices to promote mutual understanding between races and the creation of an international community free from all forms of segregation and discrimination.
It should be noted, that Convention was adopted by the UN General Assembly on 1965 and came into effort on 1969. 175 states are the participants of UN Assembly General which periodically report to Committee on implementation of requirements of this international-legislative document.
