Tajik Foreign Minister has presented the country's position on Palestine and Myanmar

Dushanbe, August 15. (NIAT “Khovar”).-

From 13 August 2012 in Jidda city of Saudi Arabia Kingdom has been conducted an extraordinary session of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of member-states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. This session was attended by Tajikistan delegation headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Hamrokhon Zarifi.

In his speech Foreign Minister presented the country’s position on discussed issues. In particular there was noted that the Republic of Tajikistan in whole supports the Palestine’s position on the most important issue of the Islamic world, as well as strongly condemns the tragedy of Muslims in Myanmar.

Regarding the issue on Syria, Tajik side stressed that the crisis in Syria must be resolved without outside interference in the internal affairs of the country.

Tajik Minister noted that processed project of the former special representative Secretary General of the United Nations Organization and League of Arabic states on Syria Mr. Kofi Annan is the first step on a way of regulating the conflicts in this country. In this regard, Foreign Minister of Tajikistan called upon the international community to assist to warring parties in taking relevant efforts, so that the safety and security to the life of every Syrian be guaranteed.

It should be noted that, from August 14-15 2012 in Mecca extraordinary session of the Heads of member-states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation will be held where the President of the Republic of Tajikistan will be represented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
