International Monetary Fund expresses satisfaction over socio-economic development of Tajikistan

Dushanbe, March 1. (NIAT “Khovar”).-On February 29, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon received the Director of mission of International Monetary Fund Todd Schneider.
The parties discussed issues connected with current state of cooperation and ways of further support of socio-economic development of Tajikistan.
There was expressed satisfaction over results and perspectives of socio-economic development of Tajikistan, which in spite of the negative external factors were observed in the country. Particular attention was paid to preparation of a new Tax Code of Tajikistan, which is one of the important conditions for improvement of investment and entrepreneurial climate. By words of Emomali Rahmon, “Aim of reducing a number of taxes and their size, in order the taxpayers do not conceal their real incomes, and conduct transparent activity.”
Also was expressed confidence that, this way of working would be beneficial to both taxpayers and the state budget, as well as eliminate the cases contributing the appearance of corruption.
It should be noted that, the project of new Tax Code of Tajikistan will be prepared by Government’s Commission jointly with experts from international finance offices.
The sides held constructive talk for issues of future programs of cooperation between Tajikistan and International Monetary Fund, according to the press-service of the President of Tajikistan. (Translated by M.Ismatova)
