E.Rahmon received Urban Rusnak

Dushanbe, July 20. (NIAT “Khovar”).-

Today the President of the country Emomali Rahmon received the Energy Charter Secretary General Urban Rusnak.

The issues of cooperation of Tajikistan with this authoritative international organization have been reviewed at the meeting.

“Tajikistan, possessing great energy resources, is ready for development of cooperation with all interested countries and organizations, including the Energy Charter”, - stated Emomali Rahmon at the beginning of the talk.

In his turn, Urban Rusnak also called the energy opportunities and potential, particularly hydropower of Tajikistan “as great and abundant” and stated that the Energy Charter is interested in the enhancement of beneficial cooperation with Tajikistan and realization of this potential”.

As Urban Rusnak informed, “the Energy Charter supports the efforts of Tajikistan on realization of energy opportunities and ensuring energy security and will render assistance to this country in improvement of efficiency of energy networks, enhancement of knowledge of specialists and development of international cooperation in this sphere”.

It was stressed that the economic, energy, transport and transit opportunities of Tajikistan should be used for the good of an entire region.

According to Emomali Rahmon, “all energy projects of Tajikistan have been designed with consideration of interests of all countries of the region and we never support any ideas harmful for our neighbors”.
