Meeting of E.Rahmon with Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany Dirk Niebel

Dushanbe, August 27. (NIAT “Khovar”).-

On August 25, the President of the country Emomali Rahmon received the Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development of the Federal Republic of Germany Dirk Niebel.

The issues of wide-ranging cooperation between Tajikistan and Germany have been discussed at the meeting.

Much attention has been paid to the enhancement of economic, trade, transport and transit cooperation with consideration of abundant opportunities of markets of Afghanistan, Pakistan, as well as other countries of Central and South Asia.

Dirk Niebel highlighted that Germany is interested in support of infrastructure projects of Tajikistan in the areas of energy, transport and communication aimed at the development of the entire region.

A constructive talk has also been held on the socio-political situation in Afghanistan and its impact on the countries of the region and the world.

According to him, Germany will further continue its assistance to Tajikistan in strengthening protection of its border with Afghanistan, fight against illegal drug trafficking and prevention of spread of threats of terrorism and extremism.
