E.Rahmon has met with Leader of Opposition in Parliament of India Sushma Swaraj
Dushanbe, September 4. (NIAT “Khovar”).-Yesterday, on September 3, in Delhi the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha (People’s Chamber) – the Lower Chamber of Parliament of the Republic of India, representative of People’s Party of India in the Parliament Sushma Swaraj.
The issues related to inter-parliamentary relations between the two countries, development of institutes of civil society, strengthening democratization process and ensuring the rule of law have been considered at the meeting.
“For us India acts as not only the model of rapid economic progress, but also as a country possessing rich democratic traditions”, - stated the Head of State Emomali Rahmon.
In her turn, Sushma Swaraj also paid attention to the activities of the bicameral Parliament of Tajikistan, the development of social democratization process, ensuring human rights and freedoms, and studying of peacemaking experience of our country.
Both sides stressed their readiness in the enhancement of cooperation in these areas.
