Tajikistan and Pakistan: fight against illegal drug trafficking
Dushanbe, May 21. (NIAT “Khovar”).-
On May 17, the Director of the Drug Control Agency under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Rustam Nazarov met with Pakistani Ambassador to Tajikistan Amjad Husain Sial in Dushanbe.
During the meeting which was conducted at the initiative of Ambassador, the issues of concerns of the Pakistani Government regarding increase of the drug production in Afghanistan, organization of joint events on combating of drug trafficking from the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
Pakistani Ambassador in his turn proposed to consider the opportunity to conduct the Session on working out of joint events with countries bordering with Afghanistan in the second half of 2012.
The sides discussed the implementation of bilateral events on cooperation, as well as possible ways to develop drug situation in region after the withdrawal of coalition forces from the IRA. (Translated by M.Ismatova)
