Message of the press-center of MIA RT and SCNS RT

Dushanbe, July 24. (NIAT “Khovar”).-

As it was informed earlier, on July 21 of the current year, in 17:30, on the way back from a business trip from Ishkoshim region, at the entrance to Khorugh city as a result of sudden attack of organized criminal group engaging with tobacco trafficking, has been killed the Head of the Department of the State Committee of National Security on Badakhshan region, Mayor-General Nazarov Abdullo Sa’dulloevich.

Preliminary investigation showed that the crime has been committed by the members of illegal armed group led by a resident of Khorugh city, the commander of the detachment of the boundary Ishkashim Tolib Ayombekov.

T.Ayombekov and his associates refused to come and appear before the law, thereby ignoring the demands of the organs dealing with the investigation of this murder.

It should be noted, that T.Ayombekov organizing the illegal armed force, during many years dealing with drug trafficking, tobacco products, and precious stones, as well as there are a number of grave and especially grave crimes, including robbery are on the account of this illegal armed force.

In order to avoid unwanted losses among the civilians, with order of the country’s President has been organized a government commission, included the deputies, government members, heads of law enforcement agencies, state and public figures, intellectuals, religious ulemas and active area. For three days this commission has held several meetings with T. Ayombekov and with his supporters, and proposed them to lay down their arms and give the persons who have committed the crime to the law enforcement organs.

T.Ayombekov categorically rejected this proposal and on the contrary has begun to engage mobilization of armed criminal entities and an armed confrontation.
In this regard, on July 24, in Khorugh, by the law enforcement organs and military structures in order to normalize the situation has been begun the special operation on detection of the members of organized criminal group and to take legal action against them.

We express confidence that nice residents of Khorugh city and region will condemn these criminal acts and will actively cooperate with law enforcement organs in protection of public order and tranquility and ensuring the prevalence of law.

The people must be sure that the criminals will be arrested and surely will appear before the law.
