XI Congress of Pediatrics in Europe and Asia opened in Dushanbe

Dushanbe, September 29. (NIAT "Khovar", Ch.Ehrlich).
Today, XI Congress of Pediatrics in Europe and Asia was launched in the State Complex "Kokhi Vahdat".

The event was organized by Republican Scientific-Clinical Center of Pediatrics and Pediatric Surgery at the Ministry of Health with the assistance of the Government of the RT, Tajikistan’s Academy of Medical Sciences and the Union of National Pediatric Societies of Turkic-speaking countries.

Over 200 specialists in pediatrics and pediatric surgery from 18 countries were participated in the congress.

Before the beginning of the congress was organized an exhibition of national and foreign pharmaceutical companies, which presented its newest drugs and medical equipment in the field of pediatrics and pediatric surgery.

Moreover, the Head of the Department of Health of the President’s Executive Office Lola Bobokhojaeva, Minister of Health Nusratullo Salimov, general secretary of the Union of National Pediatric Societies of Turkic-speaking countries Enver Hasanoglu, President of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the RT Nusratullo Faizulloev have participated at the opening ceremony of the congress.

Addressing the congress, Minister of Health Nusratullo Salimov noted that children shape the future of the nation's wealth and are of any state. Children's health is a priority in the policy of the Government of the RT, as children and adolescents make up almost half the population of our country. During the period of independence of the country has ratified important international instruments, such as: "The Convention on the Rights of the Child", "Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women." Developed and approved a number of key instruments for the protection of public health. As a result of the activities in the country there is a tendency to reduce maternal and infant mortality.

Minister of Health stressed that the problems of malnutrition and micronutrient among mothers and children were and remain highly relevant. The consequences of malnutrition is most often seen in infants and young children, and its main manifestations are growth retardation, development, and increase susceptibility to disease compared with peers. Ministry of Health in conjunction with the education sector developed platform restructuring of school health services, including legal and regulatory framework, packages of school health, nutrition, and prevention of infections, injuries, sexual and reproductive health.

"Conducting the Congresses XI pediatricians Eurasian countries is important not only for pediatricians but for the country as a whole. Discussion of issues in improving health care quality and health of our children have their own, while at the same time, the overall priorities of relevance at this stage of development of our country "- said the Minister of Health.
