Convoy of assistance of Tajikistan Government to Badakhshon region

Dushanbe, August 2. (NIAT “Khovar”).-

On July 2, by the order of the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon the convoy of assistances of the Government of Tajikistan consisting from 82 Lorries departed from Dushanbe to Badakhshon region.

In holy month of Ramadan, this convoy brings to 8 thousand families, in particular to 7 thousand 900 participants of the Second World War, orphans, handicaps, destitute families of the cities and districts of this region 425 tons flour, 158 tons of sugar, 198 tons rice and 80 tons of oil as well as pasta, generally 1 thousand 20 tons food products will be delivered.

Besides, the convoy brings clothes and financial assistances to 1 thousand 277 participants of the Second World War, orphans to the age of 18-years and region’s needy residents.

It should be noted that, previously at the order of the Head of the country the Convoy of Health was departed to cities and district of Badakhshon region.

During July of this year, the experienced doctors have received more then 3 thousand patients in cities and districts of Khorugh, Darvoz, Ishkoshim, Rushon, Roshtqala and Murghob and offered medical assistance free of charge, including 60 of them had medical surgery.

It is necessary to mention that, during last years, the decree of the Government of Tajikistan on “Socio-economic development of Badakhshon region” was designed and on the basis of this program, the Programs of economic reform of Badakhshon region for 1995-2000 and Program of Economic Development of Badakhshon region till 2015 has been adopted.

At the result of implementation of several hydro power projects, little and large industrial enterprises, establishing custom and border passes are realized and by this way thousands of the residents of the region were provided with the job places.

In the independent years of the country have been achieved great achievements on ensuring the residents of Badakhshon region with electricity power, development of entrepreneurship and trade, access of the residents to state TV and Radio networks, modern information and communication technologies, including internet and mobile communication, broadening the functioning the education, health, cultural and sport establishments.

The government of Tajikistan is paying special attention on improving the social conditions of the region’s residents. In this regard, during the last years in Khorugh city and districts of Shughnon and Roshtqala 133 hectares of lands has been allocated for the young and needy families for construction of houses.

On July 30 of the current year, by the decree of the Government of Tajikistan another 40 hectares of lands has been allocated in Darvoz district for 272 families and in Vanj district 76 hectares for 758 families.

At the general 2 thousand 250 families was provided with the lands and by this way the problem of 16 thousand residents of the region on dwelling will be resolved.

During the last 2 - 3 years, due to the involving of non-state budget funds, about 400 kilometers of drinking water system has been introduced in the rural parts of the region.
