IN CAPITAL THE INTERNATIONAL DAY OF HUMAN RIGHTS TO BE CELEBRATED

           Dushanbe, December, 10th. (Farangis Rakhimova, Olga Saprykina, the NIAT "Khovar"). — The 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights will be celebrated today, on December, 10th, in the Day of Human Rights.  The declaration became the first international official recognition that all people have equal rights and freedoms by birth, and it remains the relevant and significant document at this moment. The campaign theme is "Dignity and justice for all of us" declared one year ago by the General Secretary of the United Nations; it reflects a plan of the Declaration — adherence to dignity and justice for everybody but not for the elite. Today in capital the annual Conference devoted to the International Day of Human Rights will take place.           As deputies of Madjilisi Oli informed the NIAT "Khovar" in the UNDP Office in Tajikistan, more than 80 participants, among which representatives of the ministries and departments, and also representatives of the civil society, will meet to analyze activity in the sphere of human rights for last year, and also to discuss prospects and recommendations about development of human rights in Tajikistan. Questions of creation of the National Institute for Human Rights, access to justice, and realization of judicial-legal reform in the Republic of Tajikistan and Tajikistan's realization of the international obligations under the contracts in the sphere of human rights will be mentioned.
