TODAY IS THE INTERNATIONAL DAY OF MIGRANTS

            Dushanbe, December, 18. (Nargis Boyahmedova, Shoim Mallaev, the NIAT «Khovar»). — «Contribution of migrants to development of local communities and economic growth of their countries is huge and is frequently underestimated», — has noted in the application the General director International organizations of labor, Huan Somaviya on the occasion of the International day of migrants which is celebrated today, on December, 18th. In the application in particular, it is spoken that present global financial and the economic crisis serious influences position of workers of migrants all over the world. Unfortunately, experience testifies: workers migrants, especially women-migrants and what migratory status is not settled, during crisis suffer to the greatest degree and appear in the most vulnerable position.           Migrants still should feel influence of crisis to the full, however already today we know about cases of direct dismissals, about deterioration of working conditions, including due to reduction of wages and also about growth of number of those who comes back home and about reduction of reception of migrants.  «One more serious problem for these countries — reduction of remittances of migrants home, — was emphasized by H. Somaviya. — in the decision of problems of present crisis we should lean on the complex strategy of the worthy work formulated in accepted IOL in 2008 of the Declaration on social justice with a view of fair globalization. One of the important directions — creation of opportunities of worthy work on the native land at which migration becomes not compelled decision and result of a free choice of the person». Today, in the international day of migrants, the IOL again declares the adherence to promotion, in close cooperation with all agencies of the United Nations, worthy work for women and men — workers of migrants all over the world.           About it the NIAT «Khovar» have informed in representation the IOL in the Republic of Tajikistan.
