CUSTOMS SERVICE OF TAJIKISTAN IS 17

          Dushanbe, January, 23rd. (Mavdjuda Davlatzoda, Olga Saprykina, the NIAT "Khovar"). — Yesterday Tajik customs officers celebrated their professional holiday. The Customs Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan is 17 years. As the NIAT "Khovar" was informed in the press centre of the Customs Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, on January, 22nd, 1992 Customs Service had been formed as the basis of Central Administrative Board of Customs Supervision under the Ministerial council.           On January, 21st, employees of the Customs service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan performed reports for its work in 2008 to journalists. It has been noticed that experts of this department prevented 32 cases of drug trafficking in result of which 33 persons were detained. Citizens of Philippines and Uganda were among detained persons. According to experts of the Customs service it was the first time in their practice. It was noticed at the total press conference in the Customs service of RT. For 2008 employees of the Tajik customs withdraw 91 kg of 814 grammes of narcotics from illegal circulation.
