EXPLOSION ON BORDER
Dushanbe, January, 4th. (Farangis Rakhimova, Olga Saprykina, the NIAT "Khovar"). — On December, 27th explosion of antipersonnel mine occurred in kishlak Ayvadj of Shaartuz region on border with the Republic of Afghanistan. As the result of explosion during military service 23-year-old frontier guard Radjab Rakhimov has got mine explosion wound with traumatic amputation of the right foot and plural fragmental wounds of the right eye and the right hand. The victim has been disposed in the central regional hospital where has received necessary emergency surgical treatment. Now the victim is transferred in hospital of frontier troops where has been repeatedly operated and now he is in resuscitation and receives necessary treatment. About it the NIAT "Khovar' was informed in the Tajik Center on mine issues. According to the source of information, last year 13 persons suffered from explosion of antipersonnel mines and explosive rests: 9 persons were wounded and 4 were lost. According to data of statistical base of the Tajik centre on mine issues, since 1992 to present time 351 persons were lost and 443 persons are wounded from explosion of antipersonnel mines and explosive rests. As the result of mine clearing in 2008 407 not broken off ammunition has been found and 5,371 mines were neutralized.
