IN 2008 A TOTAL NUMBER OF OBSERVERS AT ELECTIONS IN THE CIS COUNTRIES MADE 9 THOUSAND PEOPLE

            Dushanbe, January, 4th.. (Marziya Saidova, Olga Saprykina, the NIAT "Khovar"). — Representatives of Central Selection Commission on elections and referenda of RT arrived from capital of Belarus Minsk where took part in the round table work "CIS observers Mission Activity on elections and referenda in the CIS member states in 2008". The objective of the round table is in searches of ways of free and transparent elections in the CIS countries and activization of CIS observers Mission Activity on elections and referenda in the CIS member states. The Executive secretary of the CIS S. Lebedev made his opening speech before participants. He highly appreciated CIS observers Mission Activity on elections and referenda in the CIS member states in 2008.             According to the chief of the Stuff of Central Selection Committee on elections and referenda of RT Muhibullo Dododjonov, action has been held at the initiative of the CIS Executive Committee. Participants of the round table discussed a wide range of questions concerned carrying out democratic and transparent elections on the CIS territory. It was noticed, that in 2008 in some CIS countries presidential and parliamentary elections have been held where more than 9 thousand observers have taken part.
