MEETING OF EMOMALI RAHMON WITH MINISTER OF INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION
Yesterday the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon accepted the minister of international cooperation of the Arabian Republic of Egypt Fayza Abul-Naga who arrived in Dushanbe at the head of the Egyptian part of the Joint intergovernmental commission on economic and scientific and technical cooperation. At the meeting questions of development of cooperation between Tajikistan and Egypt were discussed. Interlocutors expressed confidence that during the first session of the Joint intergovernmental commission on economic, scientific and technical cooperation ways of realization of existing contract-legal base and use of huge potential of interaction will be defined. Trade and investments, water-power engineering, easy and food-processing industry, development of minerals, finance and bank activity, agriculture and water use, education, public health services, science, culture and tourism were pointed out as priority spheres for expansion and strengthening of mutually advantageous cooperation. The most perspective direction of economic cooperation was called the sphere of water-power engineering where both countries possess huge potential. The parties intend to co-operate actively in HYDROELECTRIC POWER STATION building on the territory of Tajikistan. The parties made a decision to declare Nurek and Asuan as the energetic towns and twin towns of Tajikistan and Egypt. The parties also concerned questions of cooperation within the framework of Organization of the Islamic Conference and other international institutes. Madam Fayza Abul-Naga informed that the initiative of the President of Tajikistan to announce 2009 the Year of Grand Imam Abu Hanifa caused great delight and cordiality of administration and Muslims of the Arabian Republic of Egypt. She also handed over to the Head of Tajikistan film "Imam Abu Hanifa Numan" which the Egyptian cinematographers shoot as a gift to the President of the Arabian Republic of Egypt Husni Muborak. The president of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon regarded this gift as the Egyptians unappreciable contribution in business of acquaintance of the people of Tajikistan with life and activity of Grand Imam. He noticed that in the nearest future the film will be translated into the Tajik language, duplicated and shown to numerous spectators of the Tajik TV. About it the NIAT "Khovar" was informed in the press-service of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
