PRESIDENT OF TAJIKISTAN AND MINISTER OF TRADE OF IRAN DISCUSSED COOPERATION ISSUES
Dushanbe, February, 6th. (Timur Bandishoev). — On February, 5th, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon accepted the Minister of Trade of the Islamic Republic of Iran Saidmasud Mirkozimi. Upon termination of the meeting the Iranian minister held briefing for representatives of mass-media. He noticed that parties discussed cooperation development issues in various spheres: economy, trade, bank and communication. Also questions of Emomali Rahmon participation in work of forthcoming session of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) were discussed. According to S. Mirkozimi, it is expected that Tajik-Iranian negotiations on bilateral cooperation issues will take place within the framework of the ECO session. Besides it issues of tripartite cooperation (Tajikistan, Iran and Afghanistan) in the sphere of cargoes' transportation and transit will be discussed. The Minister of Trade of Iran noticed also that in the nearest future the Trading centre will be built in Tajikistan. The construction of it will promote development of trade relations between two countries. "Iranian party will explore the Tajik market and present its production in your country, noted S.Mirkozimi. — The trading centre will be built with assistance of Iran private sector". The minister told that Iran is intended to strengthen commercial relations with Tajikistan and offers cooperation with use of free economic zones. "In particular Tajikistan should consider issue of Bandarboz zone in the south of Iran through which RT has opportunity to cooperate with other countries of the region", the Iranian Minister of Trade noticed. The Iranian Ambassador to Tajikistan Ali Asghar Sherdust participated also in the press conference. He noticed that Iran will participate in building of Rogun Power Station as at the governmental level so through the private sector. The Iranian Ambassador to RТ informed also that in the nearest future the Minister of Defence of Iran and the chairman of Committee for TV and Radio Broadcasting of this country will visit Tajikistan.
