USAID BUDGET FOR TAJIKISTAN WILL MAKE 45 MILLION US DOLLARS IN 2010

            Dushanbe, March, 30. (Nargis Boiahmadova, Tojiddin Rizvon). — The fifteenth anniversary of United States Agency for International Development (USAID) activity in Tajikistan Dushanbe Was celebrated. USAID has started to assist Tajikistan in 1992, and in 1993 in the country the Agency representation has been opened.  «Since then the American people through programs USAID have given more than 300 million US dollars on development of economic sector, systems of public health services and formation, democratic institutes of the country. Besides, USAID also has rendered the humanitarian help for overcoming of consequences of civil war, numerous acts of nature, and during cold winter of 2008», — has noted the Ambassador of the USA to Tajikistan Traisy Ann Jacobson.             It has been noticed, that now assistance of USAID is aimed at structural reforms of the country, improvement of a trading and investment climate, local government strengthening, support of national educational strategy, transition on the international practice of public health services and preventive maintenance of such infectious diseases, as a tuberculosis and HIV. Also are realised a number of programs on granting of the humanitarian help which provide food and financial security of the most vulnerable groups of the population. In his address the regional director USAID William Frej has underlined, that USAID will continue cooperation with Tajikistan in development of economy and in other spheres.             USAID Budget in 2010 for Tajikistan will make 45 million US dollars that much more exceeds the budget of other states of region.
