EMOMALI RAHMON’S TALK WITH STATE MINISTER OF TURKEY
Dushanbe, April 22. (NIAT "Khovar"). — Today President Emomali Rahmon met with the State Minister of the Turkish Republic Mustafa Said Yazıcıoğlu. At the meeting, current issues and prospects of bilateral relations, particularly in the context of the forthcoming visit of Turkey's President Abdullah Gül to Tajikistan, were discussed. "We are satisfied with the level of the Tajik-Turkish multifaceted relations and their steady development", said Head of state Emomali Rahmon starting the conversation. At the same time, he stressed that the real results of the bilateral trade and economic cooperation were lagging from existing reserves and opportunities. The interlocutors expressed mutual confidence that the forthcoming visit of the Turkish President Abdullah Gül to Tajikistan would give a new impetus to the development of mutually beneficial relations between the two countries. In this connection, the necessity was stressed of enlivening the activity of the Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation and the Business Council of Tajikistan and Turkey. The parties noted mutual interest in strengthening and broadening their cooperation in the construction of hydropower facilities, rail and motor ways, establishment of joint industrial enterprises and trade-and-service centers, as well as development of tourism in Tajikistan. A constructive talk also took place concerning the possibilities of developing the cooperation in the spheres of education, sciences and culture, as well other questions of mutual interest.
