E. RAHMON’S TALK WITH KAZAKH MINISTER OF DEFENSE
Dushanbe, May 27. (NIAT "Khovar"). — Today President Emomali Rahmon received Defense Minister of Kazakhstan Daiyal Ahmetov, who had arrived in Tajikistan on a two-day official visit on May 26. The interlocutors discussed issues of Tajikistan-Kazakhstan military and military-technical cooperation both on bilateral basis and within the frameworks of the Collective Security Organization Treaty and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. President Emomali Rahmon noted with satisfaction the current state of the two countries' multifaceted cooperation and expressed gratitude to the state leadership of Kazakhstan for brotherly aid, among all, to the Armed Forces of Tajikistan. The two had a substantial talk concerning the necessity of broadening cooperation in training military cadres and exchange of experience and information in what relates to fighting terrorism and extremism. They also touched upon other topics of mutual interest. The interlocutors exchanged opinions concerning the current situation in Afghanistan and its probable developments.
