PRESIDENT E. RAHMON’S TALK WITH M. MORDASINI
Dushanbe, May 15. (NIAT "Khovar"). — On May 14th, President Emomali Rahmon met with the Executive Director at the World Bank Group Michel Mordasini, who is the Swiss Government's appointee to represent Tajikistan in the WB. Head of state Emomali Rahmon expressed gratitude to the Swiss Government and Michel Mordasini for representing Tajikistan in the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, as well as for the significant financial and technical assistance rendered to Tajikistan by the Swiss state. The parties had a circumstantial talk concerning the support of the Tajik Government's measures aimed at minimizing the impact of the global financial and economic crisis, and the results of the meeting of representatives of donor organizations and countries, held on May 13th in Dushanbe. The interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the said meeting, where decisions were taken on rendering additional financial and technical aid for the implementation of the Tajik Government's anti-crisis program. The parties had also a constructive exchange of opinions concerning the promotion of economic reforms, improvement of investments climate, support of private entrepreneurship, solving the problem of cotton-growers' debts, as well as the use of Tajikistan's rich water and energy resources for the sake of ensuring sustainable economic development of the country and broadening regional cooperation.
