TAJIK-GERMAN AGREEMENTS SIGNED IN DUSHANBE
Dushanbe, May 14. (NIAT "KHOVAR", Nargis Boyahmedova). — Two Tajik-German inter-governmental agreements were signed today in Dushanbe by Tajikistan's Minister of Economic Development and Trade Ghulomjon Bobozoda and German Ambassador to Tajikistan Ms. Doris Herrtrampf. The first of the documents deals with the financial cooperation of the two countries in 2008-2009. According to it, Tajikistan will be given irretrievable loans in the sum of € 29m< which will be used for the implementation of projects on the development of micro-financial system in rural areas of the republic and establishment of a micro-financial bank. Grants will be also given with the aim of carrying out programs of power production from renewable sources and taking measures for raising efficiency of energy consumption. The agreement on technical cooperation will provide with grants in the sum of €7m, which will be designed for the implementation of projects in the sphere of promoting small and medium businesses, as well as the process of reforms in the system of vocational and primary education of Tajikistan.
