PRESIDENT E. RAHMON PRESIDES OVER SESSION OF CONSULTATIVE COUNCIL
Dushanbe, June 19. (NIAT “Khovar”). – On June 18, Head of state Emomali Rahmon presided over the third session of the Consultative Council under the President of Tajikistan for improving investment climate. It was attended by the Tajik Prime Minister Aqil Aqilov, President’s state councilor for economic policy, chief executives of relevant ministries and governmental agencies, members of the Council and other responsible persons. The said Consultative Council under the RT President consists of chief executives of relevant governmental structures, representatives of donor states and organizations, domestic and foreign entrepreneurs. In the period between the second and the third sessions of the Council, its new members have become the Chairman of Tajikistan’s Union of Entrepreneurs and Exporters Nekruy Zabirov, the Chairman of Tajikistan’s Association of Commercial Banks Izatullo La’lbekov and the Chairman of Tajikistan’s Association of Manufacturers and Entrepreneurs Zayd Saidov. The Chairman of the Consultative Council for Improving Investment Climate, President Emomali Rahmon proposed to increase the number of its members on the account of representatives of donor countries and organizations, as well as domestic and foreign entrepreneurs. The participants of the session heard to the report on the works accomplished in the direction of introducing the ‘single window’ principle into the state registration of juridical persons and individual entrepreneurs. It was noted that the ‘200 Days of Reforms’ Program would be adopted by the Tajik Government later in the month. Members of the Council expressed satisfaction with the state of the process of improving investment climate, personally controlled by President Emomali Rahmon. This was stressed by representatives of the US Agency for International Development ((USAID) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, as well as the President of “Tethys Tajikistan Ltd.” David Robson. Thus, Mr. Robson called himself a successful foreign entrepreneur in Tajikistan and emphasized that “the satisfaction of an entrepreneur is the best publicity for investment climate in a country”. The participants of the session were confident that measures now being taken by the Tajik Government, including its anti-crisis steps, would lead to increase in the inflow of investments to the country’s economy.
