IN TAJIKISTAN A NUMBER OF CASES OF DISEASE BY RABIES VIRUS HAS INCREASED

             Dushanbe, December, 26th. (Ibodat Davlatova, Olga Saprykina, the NIAT "Khovar"). — Session of the Board of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Tajikistan has taken place in Dushanbe. At the session questions of an epidemiological status of rabies in RТ and the National program for prevention and control of HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases have been discussed. the head of the office of epidemiology public service of sanitary-and-epidemiologic control Navruz Djafarov noticed in his speech, that for 10 months 2008 in the country 13 cases of disease by rabies virus have been registered, that on 7 cases more than for the similar period of 2007.              As he said the main reason of this illness is the low level of awareness of the population, untimely address to medical aid and insufficient financial maintenance of medical institutions for acquisition of medical preparations of type "Gamma globulin" and vaccines against rabies. At the session also it has been noticed, that within the framework of the National program for control of AIDS of the Ministry of Health of RT under the support of the Global fund offices of trust are opened in 30 cities and districts which are equipped by all necessary equipment and 10 kinds of medical preparations.
