THE HEAD OF STATE ACCEPTED FRENCH AMBASSADOR

           Dushanbe, January, 8th. (Olga Saprykina, the NIAT "Khovar"). — Yesterday the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon accepted the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of the French Republic to Tajikistan Olivier Maitland-Pelen in connection with completion of his diplomatic mission in our country. In course of conversation the Head of state Emomali Rahmon highly appreciated diplomatic activity of Olivier Maitland-Pelen in Tajikistan. According to the French diplomat, for the last years in his native country, as well as in other states of Europe, understanding of role of Tajikistan and position of its President Emomali Rahmon at the decision of problems of the central-Asian region and Afghanistan increased considerably.           Olivier Maitland-Pelen declared that France will continue to provide support and assistance to Tajikistan as this country occupies the important strategic position in the Central Asia and realizes large-scale political and economic plans having great importance for the entire region. At the meeting the exchange of views concerning ways of further expansion of the Tajik-French cooperation and other questions representing mutual interest took place. About it the NIAT "Khovar" was informed in the press-service of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan.
