UNIDO AND EURASEC INTEND TO DEVELOP COOPERATION IN VARIOUS SPHERES

          Dushanbe, January, 22nd. (Timur Bandishoev, Olga Saprykina, the NIAT "Khovar"). — The Memorandum of cooperation between the Euroasian economic community (EurAsEC) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) was signed in Vienna. As the EvrAsEC press centre informs, the document was signed in UNIDO headquarter by EvrAsEC secretary general Tair Mansurov and UNIDO general director Kandeh Yumkella. The memorandum, in particular, provides that both organizations will develop interaction in such spheres as: energy and climate change; environment including water resources management; agro-industry; creation of trading potential; assistance to private business development.          The given memorandum was signed in accordance with the resolution "About cooperation between the United Nations and EvrAsEC" accepted at the 62nd session of the United Nations General Assembly. In this resolution the most authoritative international organization focused its structures and specialized establishments on cooperation and links development with EvrAsEC for joint programs realizations directed on achievement of common goals. EvrAsEC has status of the observer in the United Nations General Assembly since 2003.
