EMOMALI RAHMON AT THE INFORMAL MEETING OF HEADS OF THE CIS STATES

             Dushanbe, December, 22nd. (Olga Saprykina, the NIAT "Khovar"). — On December, 19th the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon has taken part in an informal meeting of heads of Armenia, Russia, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan which was held in Borovoe city of Akmolin region of the Republic of Kazakhstan.            At the meeting within the framework of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Collective Security Treaty Organization and the Euroasian Economic Community current questions and prospects of relations between the above mentioned countries were discussed. The main theme of conversation of the heads of the states was related to development of joint efforts and search of ways of negative influence softening of the world financial crisis on the territory of these countries.             It was underlined that the countries on the CIS space should cooperate closely in interests of collective decrease in negative influence of global crisis.             This very day the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Noursultan Nazarbaev. At the meeting questions of practical realization of documents on cooperation of two countries in spheres of economy and trade, investments, interbank relations, power, agriculture, science, education and culture were discussed.             The satisfaction of the level of strategic relations between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan and growth of bilateral goods turnover which increases annually on 20-30 % has been expressed. Heads of two states have agreed about strengthening of interaction for the purpose of softening negative influence of the world financial crisis.            It was decided that in the account of the public debt of Tajikistan Kazakhstan will put wheat, diesel fuel and black oil in our country during the winter period of 2008-2009. It is necessary to remind that the volume of this debt makes 11 million 479 thousand US dollars. Interlocutors have accented on the necessity of expansion of volumes of the Kazakhstan investments into the economy of Tajikistan, including investment of creation of the joint industrial enterprises, buildings of one HYDROELECTRIC POWER STATION of medium capacity on the river Vakhsh and some other actions.
