EMOMALI RAHMON PRESENTED WITH THE ORDER OF THE OLYMPIC COUNCIL OF ASIA
Dushanbe, April 9th. (NIAT "Khovar"). — On April 8th, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon was presented with the Order of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), which he had been decorated with considering his outstanding merits in the development of sports in this country. The award was delivered to the Head of state Emomali Rahmon by the OCA President, sheikh Ahmad as-Sabah al-Fahad, the Presidential Press Service informed the "Khovar" news agency. President Emomali Rahmon called this honorary award an evidence of high assessment of Tajik sports' achievements and expressed gratitude to the President of the Olympic Council of Asia.During their conversation, Emomali Rahmon and sheikh Ahmad as-Sabah al-Fahad discussed issues of further developing the cooperation between Tajikistan and OCA. They noted with satisfaction that despite all difficulties, Tajik sportsmen make, from year to year, more successes in regional and international competitions. Sheikh Ahmad as-Sabah al-Fahad informed that the conversation coincided with the day when the Olympic Council of Asia and National Olympic Committee of Tajikistan were to sign two documents on cooperation, which anticipate rendering assistance to Tajikistan in the construction of sports facilities and improving physical training of Tajik schoolchildren. President Emomali Rahmon and sheikh Ahmad as-Sabah al-Fahad, who is concurrently a high-ranking official of the State of Kuwait, had a substantial talk concerning the reinforcement and further development of the Tajik-Kuwaiti cooperation. They especially stressed the necessity of continuing the cooperation in such fields as the construction of motorways and hydropower stations in Tajikistan, exporting drinking water to Kuwait, education and health care. Sheikh Ahmad as-Sabah al-Fahad said that the State of Kuwait was ready to fund the construction of up to 60 educational and medical establishments in this country.
